Description

The HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module (PN 794502‑B23) is a master interconnect module for HPE Synergy frames, designed to deliver a simplified, flat network architecture for composable infrastructure. As a compact plug‑in managed switch, it supports both compute and fabric consolidation—eliminating the need for separate rack top switches.

Featuring high-performance capabilities, this module provides six QSFP+ 40 Gbps uplinks (configurable as 1×40 Gb or 4×10 Gb Ethernet or 4×8 Gb Fibre Channel), twelve 10/20 Gb midplane downlinks, and high-throughput interconnect links. With a fabric throughput of 2.56 Tbps and latency around 1 µs, it enables responsive and efficient networking for dense Synergy deployments.

This module supports Virtual Connect's master/satellite architecture, reducing network sprawl and easing large-scale fabric management. It routes north/south and east/west traffic efficiently, ideal for dynamic server reconfiguration and rapid provisioning via HPE OneView.
